Is February a good time to vacation in the Caribbean?
Can you answer Tech Lady's question about Caribbean Vacations?:
I want to go to the Caribbean for my birthday in February. Is it a good time to go there and where should I go. I don't know is I want to go the Jamaica, Bahamas, Virgin Islands? I want to sight see, go clubbing, and stay in a nice resort hotel. Please, give me suggestions. I need to get my plans set in stone.

We went to Cancun this past February. The water was a little cool, but otherwise fine for swimming. Cancun and the Bahamas are a good choice for a combination of clubbing and resort hotels. But Cancun is a much better choice for sightseeing.
Other locations are good in some respects but not others. Dominican Republic has great beaches and resorts, but it's not the place you go for clubbing and sightseeing. Jamaica has great resorts and sightseeing, but it has a high crime rate and is not good for clubbing and being out at night.
I hate to give you a vague answer, but you will find that a little research will go a long way in figuring out which destination fits what you want.
got to Barbados! IT IS THE BEST ISLAND:~) and I've been to a lot of them and the weather is ALWAYS perfect, because it is only 13 degrees from the equator it is always right outside the hurricane belt and the water is always 85-90 degrees year round.
I had our 31 Anniversary last Feb. we went on a cruise to Jamaica, Grad caveman's, Cozumel and the weather at all three of those places were just great. Hope you have a very happy birthday.
Many travelers who visit the Caribbean during the month of February are looking to escape the colder temperatures found in more northern locations. With days full of warm sunshine and cool breezes, this region is often the perfect place to getaway and enjoy pleasant temperatures.
Here is a link with most island's average temp in February.
All the islands you have selected would be fun but will they be warm enough for you. Bahamas is still a bit cool in February out of your choices
I have found St Maarten/St Martin have a great nightlife with clubs and casinos. Excellent dining too. You get 2 islands for the price of one. And if the you are adventurous take the ferry over to St Barts or Anguilla for the day. Wonderful duty-free shopping for jewelry and watches.
I also think St Thomas is a great island for sight-seeing, lively bars, dining, duty-free shopping, beaches, things to do. You have several islands to take the ferry to for the day. St John, Virgin Gorda, Tortola.
There are so many choices in the Caribbean. I don't know what your budget is for this wonderful birthday bash. Where are you traveling from, how many people and how many days. This information makes a difference in me suggesting a particular resort.
My honest suggestion is visit your local travel agency and get some ideas from a professional. I usually do my research on line (decide on on a destination, price range, number of days) and go talk to my local travel agency. 9 times out of 10 they come up with a better price and usually a up-grade in the room category.
Good Luck and hope I have helped a little bit.)
