What Is An All Inclusive Caribbean Honeymoon Package?

By Darlene Berkel

'All-inclusive' is a very flexible term. It is used to state that the package includes almost everything you need, except for transport to the destination. So, for one fee, you are getting almost everything you need for your holiday. Unfortunately, Caribbean honeymoon packages can vary from resort to resort, so it is worth confirming what your package really includes. That said, there are some things you can be quite confident will be included in your 'all inclusive' package.

The Hotel Accommodations

The price of your Caribbean honeymoon package will often depend on the type of accommodations you pick out. Location of the room within the resort, size of the room itself, and special features of your suite such as in-room pools or champagne glass hot tubs can raise or lower the price significantly as well. Oceanfront, ocean view, and garden view rooms are three of the most typical room location options resorts have available, with oceanfront rooms being among the most comfortable, and costly.

Drinks

Usually, soft drinks are free of charge at all inclusive resorts, along with a limited selection of alcoholic drinks. If you are staying at a more expensive resort, then you may be fortunate enough to have unlimited top class liquors included in the package, and unlimited use of all bars within the resort.

Hotel bars can usually be found just off the main lobby of the resort where you can sip your drink during a reprieve from the gentle touches of the Caribbean sun. Late at night there will usually be at least one bar still hopping; the dance bar typically stays open the latest to offer the energetic night owls a chance to wear each other out on the dance floor before retiring back to their rooms during their romantic getaway.

Meals

Food is usually included in the price of your Caribbean honeymoon package with the best resorts offering a wide choice of restaurants to suit all tastes. Some resorts have restrictions on which restaurants are included in the all inclusive deal, but it is usually made clear if a restaurant carries an extra fee, and the selection of restaurants at the resorts is wide, so you should be able to find something suitable.

Large buffet tables in generous dining rooms present a spread of food ranging from your favorites to local delicacies for every meal of the day. Most of the higher-end resorts will offer a range of sit down gourmet-style restaurants with a menu that caters to just about every taste. If you feel like having a light snack while sunning by the pool there is usually a spread of lighter fare items such as fruit and sandwiches available close at hand. If your Caribbean honeymoon package covers little else, you will surely not go hungry.

Resort Beaches and Entertainment

Many resorts have closed beaches which are only available to people staying at the resort. These beaches are usually much more pleasant than public beaches, and a pass to the beach is included in the cost of the package.

Often, water sports are included in the package, and you could take advantage of this to learn how to surf, or to go water-skiing or scuba diving. A list of the activities included in the package should be available from your travel agent, but even if the more adventurous sports are not included in the cost of your Caribbean honeymoon package, or they are not pursuits that you and your new spouse are interested in, you should be able to go scuba diving - something that is worth trying at least once, as there is a whole new world in the waters of the Caribbean.
