At last international cricket fans get to mix pleasure with pleasure: a trip to the Caribbean, the vacation Mecca, to enjoy what is one of the largest events in the world second to the Olympics, and in close contention with World Cup football. The first stop is Jamaica, the home of legends like Courtney Walsh etc. The grand opening ceremony is set to take place at the Greenfield stadium in Falmouth the north-western end of the island. While youre there be sure to visit the highly praised and frequently photographed Dunns River Falls, the scene of countless Hollywood movies including the very first James Bond film, 'Dr. No.'. As an islander myself, I can tell you that this is one of my favorite spots in Jamaica - the adventure of climbing the spectacular falls, the thrill of jumping off the river rocks into the natural pools that form steps all the way to the top is a magnet that pulls me back again and again. This lovely vacation spot is a must see. Other Caribbean countries in the line up of venues are * Antigua, * St. Kitts and Nevis * St Lucia * Trinidad and Tobago * Grenada * Guyana * St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket in the Caribbean is not complete without the historical Kensington Oval. A vacation in the Caribbean is not complete without a stop in Barbados. While in beautiful Barbados Harrisons cave with its gorgeous stalactites, bubbling streams, thundering waterfalls, tumbling cascades and deep pools is a top attraction you should see. Either before or after the finals between England and Australia or any of the other world class teams, any one of which could very well steal the coveted cup. If you are making plans for your 2007 vacation then World cup cricket is an exciting choice. Hop from island to exotic island and enjoy the beauty of each, as well as one of the biggest events on earth at the same time.
